Who is JeePee??

First of all, let me tell you something about myself. I am a 39 years old guy from The Netherlands in Europe. I started collecting Jack Daniel's stuff in 1988 after a great vacation trip to California.
I enjoyed my whiskey so much that when I got back in The Netherlands I started looking around for that great whiskey, Jack Daniel's.
Here in Europe Jack Daniel's is not that big. "We" got all the Scotch and Irisch whisky's.But it is a big difference to taste an American whiskey. I like it much more than the European whisky's. So when I was looking around here I noticed that it was hard to find anything from Jack Daniel's besides the "normal" 700 ml Black Label.
I called the import agent over here and asked him if this was the only thing they have got here and .....yep...That's all Sir. What surprised me? After a view months I got mail from America! From Jack Daniel's! They heared from me trough the import agent and they like to "know" there costumers so they wrote me and thanked me for my interest. They also sent me a little booklet called "Dutch Millionairs" and 2 Jack Daniel's on the Rocks glasses. I was very pleased with this and this is how my collection started! I read the booklet in one breath with of course a glass of Jack in my hand.

The first 10 years collecting went very slow. As I told you, nothing is for sale here so. I had to ask friends who went on vacation in America to bring me something special. I remeber one thing that was a little Green Label 200 ml flask my sister brought me from Florida.. This was my most special item for more than 10 years! I didn't even know there was a Green Label out there!

But then came the Internet at my work. I looked around and ... yep! What I found was a Boys Toys store! I had some catching up to do. I came in contact with someone from New York, That someone is Joe Acampora, a BIG friend now, who was willing to "show me around" in Jack Daniel's land and told me lots and lots of things I didn't know. "Do you have got all the Commorative bottles" he asked?? What do I've got?? He give me a little booklet with a discription of the11 decanters inside. With History included. He also sent some pictures of his collection and .....he hooked me up with Ebay auctions.
This was a big help on getting nice stuff. It was and still is very expensive. All the shipping cost from the US to The Netherlands! What you can see on the Jack Daniel's Collectors Page is a collection that took me 4 years to collect.
But I'm proud on it and I daily enjoy my collection.
The Last 6 years I got help from Mr. Willie Cothran and his wife Sandra. They helped me find the more rare items. They are a big help and become are tru friends of me and my girl! We visit them every year and they have been to The Netherlands last spring! (2001)
If you enjoy JD the same way I do and like to share something with me, please let me know. Also if there is anything I haven't got and you want to sell or trade it, just let me know. There are a few things that I don't collect at this moment and that is the buckles (because there are sooo much buckles) and the tins (I allready got more than ten different tins and I am out of space to show them in my house!)

One thing you should know about me and that is that I am a Cystic Fibroses patient. This means that I have to stay in hospitals ones in a while. So if your emails are not answered right away or this site is not updated for a long time, that means I am out for a few weeks. I will try to update this site every 2 weeks (and did this already for the last 7 years!).

Thanks for your time and .....JD4US!
