The Jack Daniel's labels

There are many different Jack Daniel's labels made over the years. The first labels I know of are from c.1900. The oldest label I got in my personal collection is a Green Label and it is stuck on a flask from 1912, just before prohibition.
You can see more older labels on the "real old bottles" pages.
Over the years I collected a bunch of "not used" labels. Labels that a lot of you know but also a few labels never showed to the general public. label collection

Tennessee Centennial Whiskey & Black Jack Label

Let's start with the best labels in my collection. Below you see two labels the Jack Daniel's Distillery made. To continue owning the rights on a brand name like "Tennessee Centennial Whiskey" and "Black Jack" you have to "sell" a couple of bottles once every few year. Jack Daniel's is selling a case of these bottles! Why we never seen a bottle?? Simple, they are the buyers as well... Sold, bought and destroyed. These two labels below are in mint condition.

Belle of Lincoln

The Belle of Lincoln Whiskey is a more famous brand for a Jack Daniel's Collector. You could allready see the first Belle of Lincoln bottle from c.1910 here on the Jack Daniel's Collectors Page. But to keep in mind they have to sell a bottle every so many years to keep owning the brand name ... So .. here we got a Belle of Lincoln label.

Uncle Jack Label

Uncle Jack whiskey is one of the older brand-names used. It was Lem Motlow that started using the name back then. First known bottle with the name Uncle Jack dates from c.1908-1910. I have been told this 11' high clear glass quart bottle would be the only one that survived the years. This bottle does have some damage, there is a piece missing in the left upper corner...Beautiful piece of history!

More beautiful is this back bar bottle. I bet you never have seen this one before!

Ok... back to the labels... Below you see a "fake seal" black label bottle with the Uncle Jack label on it. This is one of the bottles that wasn't destroyed. In my collection I do got a labeled Uncle Jack bottle.. but it is empty and stuck on a "unknown" half pint Jack Daniel's bottle from the 60-ties.

Tennessee Squire Label

In 1998 I was offered a full and sealed Tennessee Squire flask size bottle for $ 500.00. I didn't know prices as I do know now and told the seller to go somewhere els with his stuff... Man I should have bought that bottle... These bottles where given or sold by the Tennessee Squire. All I got now is a un-used label in mint condition and a picture of the bottle that was offered me back then....
