Around 1998 they started to sell the first 1 liter bottle in a new bottle line called the "The scenes from Lynchburg" . This first bottle was sold only in Europe. It would bring us 7 different bottles with a little picture/drawing of something - a scene - from Lynchburg. Almost every year a new bottle will be made and sold around airports in Europe. Around 2001 they started selling the same designed bottles in a 750 ml version in Canada, also trying to bring us a new bottle each year. In 2003 the first US version was sold exclusively in Lynchburg also in a 750 ml version with 43 % proof whiskey instead of the 40 % they got for Canada.
What started as a bottle line of "just" 7 bottles it surpriced most collectors that they kept continueing bringing out new bottles. In 2007 they start selling a Scenes No. 8 here in Europe. How many Scenes are following...
Each bottle will be sold in three versions:
They made four (!) different Scenes from lynchburg No.1 bottles. Below the first version sold in Europe. It is a 1000 ml (1 litre), 43 % vol. The bottle on the right is the Canedian version, a 750 ml size bottle.
1 liter
750 ml
The 750ml from Canada is pretty rare and it got two languages on the back of the bottle, France and English.

Canedian 750 ml

European 1 litre version

Both the 750 ml bottles. The US version is also the new "haritage" bottle line.
The bottle below is one of the most rare Scenes bottle in my personal collection. It's the 4th version of the Scenes from lynchburg No.1, the statue. This bottle below is a 1000 ml size version sold in California for the Young's Market company.

No. 2. The Barreltruck
The second Scenes from Lynchburg is the Barreltruck. Sold in four versions (!), the 1000ml from Europe, the 750ml with France writting from Canada, the 750 ml US version (2004) and a very rare 1 liter UK version from 1999.

The 1000ml and the 750ml bottle.

Here is the third version of this Scenes from Lynchburg No.2, the US version. Sold in Lynchburg, TN from September 2004. 750 ml size bottle filled with 43 % alcohol Whiskey instead of the 40 % of the Canadian 750 ml bottle.
Without doubt the most rare versions of this "Barreltruck Scenes" would be this 1 liter bottle from the UK. It is a very limited edition to commemorate the 400.000 cases milestone sales in the UK back in 1999. I knew about this bottle but never seen it before, finaly found one for the collection!

No. 3. the Hardware store
The third bottle shows a Scenes of the Lynchburg Hardware and General store. The store that was build on Lynchburg town square in 1912 by Lem Motlow. Today the hardware store is one of the most interesting buildings on the square for a collector. Here the "official" Jack Daniel's items are for sale. Not the "real" old stuff but there new items like T-shirts, glasses, new replica jugs and lots... LOTS of other stuff. I want to thank Martin and Barb McKinney for sending me this signed bottle! Awesome...
European ------------ Canadian ------------ American version

43% 1 liter ------------ 40 % 750ml ------------ 43% 750ml

1 liter European - 750 ml France/English language Canedian - and the US version

No.4. The Whittling man
This is the forth bottle in this line and it shows us a scene from a man that whittles infront off a few Jack Daniel's barrels. What is whittling? Well the definition of whittling is:
One of the most famous (ok.. for me...) whittlers in Lynchburg would be Mr. Baker from the Baker's antique store. On my first visit to Lynchburg I've seen this man sitting in his rockin' chair whittling. I "bought" the piece he made and I still got it displayed in my room!
From left to right: 1 liter EU version - 750ml US version - backside US version
Back of the No. 4 bottle.

This the Scenes No.4 glass!

No.5. The new Statue
This is a picture of the Number five Scenes. Here you see the new statue that they made for Mr. Jack down in Lynchburg at the spring. It is sold with a very limited cardboard bos and a small booklet. The regular bottle will be sold with out the box and booklet. Again a 1000ml bottle

Even the box has Embossed lettering!
Below you see Mr. Frank Bobo signing my Scenes No.5 bottle. Next to me is my bud Mike Maynard from Texas.

Mr. Frank Bobo is retired Master distillers, here he is signing an older ad I got with him as the head stiller who is learning a lot from Mr. Lem Tolley that stands next to him in the ad. If you click on the picture below you can see a close up from the ad that is dated June 1974...
Mr. Jimmy also signed the bottle...
No.6. The Rolltop desk from Mr. Jack
The 6th bottle from the Scenes from Lynchburg started to sell in Germany around October 2004. It deplicts the rolltop desk of Mr. Jack. The bottle is also sold with the cardboard box. Again... the box is more rare as the bottle.
What would be the last Scenes from Lynchburg, the No.7... With a Scene from the new visitors center on the front of the bottle. Real nice scenes this one, I like it a lot. They start selling it in June 2005. It might be for sale with a limited cardboard box like the once pictured above but I am not sure.. haven't seen one yet.

No.8. The Charcoal maker
What a surprice it was for almost every collector to see that they start selling a No. 8 of the Scenes from Lynchburg here in Europe. The Charcoal maker. My opinion is that it's not the most beautiful picture/scenes but eh... it's yet another bottle for the collection. It started selling here in Europe around April 2007. Off course we do not know how many Scenes there will be in this line...
